Leveraging 15 years in education and nonprofit leadership, Kyra joins Chicago Run as Executive Director in 2024. Kyra's background as a teacher, special educator, school leader, and founder of Brilliant Light equips her with expertise in system development, fostering collaboration, and shaping strategic visions. She has a proven track record of partnership, working with Chicago Public Schools and local nonprofits on initiatives in early childhood education, youth development, and social-emotional learning. A lifelong Chicagoan and CPS graduate, Kyra's dedication to Chicago Run goes back to 2010. Over the years, she has worn many hats: Team Chicago Run marathoner, school site coordinator, board member, and committee chair.
Kyra holds a Master of the Arts in Teaching Elementary Education with a Special Education endorsement from National-Louis University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Outside of running, Kyra enjoys listening to podcasts, gardening, and travel. She lives on the west side of Chicago with her dogs Prince and Duke.

Juli brings over 15 years of experience in education and the nonprofit sector to Chicago Run. She believes deeply in the transformative power of running and movement, and is passionate about ensuring equitable access to movement for youth across Chicago. She holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Juli taught science for six years in Phoenix and Chicago before becoming Director of Science Curriculum and Instruction at KIPP Chicago. She later served in several roles at The Bloc, a boxing-based nonprofit in West Humboldt Park, including Director of Operations and Curriculum Specialist. Juli is excited to bring her expertise to Chicago Run to support its programming, curriculum, and training initiatives. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, running, sewing, and going on adventures with her kids.

Sara grew up in the Southside of Chicago. She graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Communication and a minor in History in May 2018. After graduating, she worked as the operations manager at small local businesses. She's excited to bring her experience to Chicago Run and advance Chicago’s Run mission. Outside of work, Sara has her own small decorated cookie business from home. She enjoys baking new recipes, painting, and trying new restaurants around the city.

Elisha attended Western Illinois University and studied Exercise Science. While at WIU she played on the Women’s Basketball Club Team and joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. She has always had a passion for sports. Elisha has always loved working with kids and has an extensive background of working and planning activities/programs with kids. She is probably the world’s ultimate Chicago Sky fan. During her free time she enjoys playing video games, watching movies and going out to eat.

Forrest is a passionate rock climber, mountaineer, outdoor enthusiast and community advocate born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. Their mission is to celebrate diversity in outdoor and urban spaces. They love collaborating with communities to encourage, promote and amplify stories and narratives from People of the Global Majority (PGM), women, non-binary and Transgender folxs, the LGBTQ2IA+ community and individuals with disabilities; to inspire our fellow sisters, brothers and siblings to venture into and engage with wild spaces. They have worked alongside the American Alpine Club, Chicago Mountaineering Club, Sierra Club, Access Fund, Outdoor Research and NOLS to help find ways to make adventure sports and outdoor communities more equitable, inclusive and welcoming to all. Forrest is the Co-founder of Sending in Color and a Coalition Member at Diversify Outdoors. You can usually find them exploring abandoned buildings, talking with friendly strangers, or reading a million books about a billion things.

Tucker was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. After graduating with a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, he started working as a political organizer and found a calling in community organizing. After moving to Chicago to work on a campaign, he fell in love with the city and its diverse neighborhoods. As a lifelong runner, Tucker is excited to bring his organizing experience to Chicago Run and help offer equitable access to physical fitness to Chicago students. He enjoys working out and playing sports. In his free time, you can find him at record stores, reading by the lake, or going to the movies.

Lindsey is a dedicated professional who holds a degree in Human Resources and Nonprofit Management from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Their passion for empowering youth and their experience as an art teacher have provided them with valuable insights into child development, activity programming, and creative expression. They are excited to merge this passion with their education to make a positive impact at Chicago Run. Outside of work, Lindsey is an avid advocate for the arts, both as a creator and enthusiast, enjoying live music, movies, painting, and creating mosaics.

Crystal grew up near St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in Sport Management and and Business Development. Crystal has spent her career working in sport related industries with a focus on using sport as a tool for youth to develop social and emotional learning skills. She joined Chicago Run as Program Director in 2017, after spending more than three years with the Chicago Fire Foundation, the charitable arm of the Chicago Fire Football Club. With the Chicago Fire Foundation, Crystal played an intricate role in expanding programming by 150%, establishing a young professionals board, and assisting the Foundation in winning multiple grants and awards such as the Beyond Sport, Sport Team of the Year. Crystal has always been passionate about sports and has a strong belief that skills and lessons learned through sport translate into the classroom and real-life settings. Crystal is a Road Runners Club of America certified Distance Running Coach. She grew up a runner, participating in both cross country and track and field and has finished two Chicago marathons. In her free time, Crystal enjoys being active outdoors, volunteering, and exploring new local restaurants with her husband and kids.

Emily grew up on the West Side of Chicago, where she discovered her love for fitness through programs like Girls on the Run and America Scores. In High School, she joined a stained-glass program through After School Matters, an experience that grew her passion for art. She also became a proud Chicago Scholar, committed to learning and giving back. Today, Emily partners with Chicago Run through Chicago Community Colleges, combining her interest in fitness and community. In her free time, she likes to lift at the gym, play basketball, paint, or work on new stained-glass pieces.

Douglas is a college Freshman and a recent graduate of Lindblom Math and Science Academy. He started his athletic journey with cross country and volleyball in middle school. Douglas joined Chicago Run because he has felt the positive impact of athletics and coaching in his youth. Outside of Chicago Run, Douglas has many hobbies such as volleyball, soccer, tennis, and riding around on his skateboard or bike. Douglas is also a photographer and has had many pictures displayed in various art exhibits.

Maureen Lesak is a Managing Director in the Industrials Group of Bank of America Investment Banking and covers industrials clients in the US and internationally. Maureen joined Merrill Lynch Investment Banking in 1997, prior to the acquisition of Merrill Lynch by Bank of America, and has spent nearly 26 years at the firm working with a wide range of clients across the industrial and consumer/retail sectors. Maureen has led recent investment banking transactions for corporate clients including Allegheny Technologies, American Tire Distributors, AMG, ArcelorMittal, Beacon Roofing, Berkshire Hathaway, Big River Steel, CDW, Cleveland-Cliffs, Commercial Metals, MP Materials, Novelis, Nucor, Reliance Steel, Ryerson, Steel Dynamics, United States Steel, Univar Solutions and W.W. Grainger. Maureen has held additional senior roles at the firm including Global COO of the Industrials and Natural Resources Groups within Investment Banking. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Maureen was a CPA with Arthur Andersen LLP. She also holds Series 7, 63 and 24 FINRA licenses. Maureen received a B.S.B.A. in accounting from The American University in Washington, D.C. Maureen is resides in Chicago with her husband Karl and their four children. Maureen serves on the boards of two other Chicago-based nonprofits, Open Heart Magic and Culinary Care. Maureen was recognized in the Crain’s Chicago Business 40 under 40 in 2012.

Holly Amatangelo is a Director at Smithbucklin, where she provides strategic oversight and thought leadership across education and learning services for a diverse portfolio of client organizations. In this role she also serves as Chief Learning Officer for the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), guiding the vision, strategy, and execution of its global learning initiatives. Throughout her career, Holly has held senior roles at the intersection of education, strategy, and professional development. Prior to Smithbucklin, she served as Director of Training and Development for Kaplan Higher Education and as National Director of Academics for SCORE! Educational Centers.
Holly earned her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and her M.S. in Higher Education from Purdue University. Outside of her professional work, she is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory and a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). Holly was the founding president of Chicago Run’s Next Generation Board and has been an active volunteer and raving fan of Chicago Run since 2009. Holly has also served on the Community Board of the Emerald City Theater Company and is a Field Advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Before her knee stopped cooperating, Holly completed five Chicago Marathons and numerous half‑marathons across the country. She is a proud Chicagoan and big Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fan. She lives in Chicago with her husband and son.

Joe Catalano is currently the First Vice President at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. Based in Chicago, he is a partner within the Kartheiser Group, a team of professionals who are working to meet the multifaceted needs of a select group of clients of significant means from individuals and families to business owners and executives. Joe has a 26-year professional history working in finance, both corporate and personal, including roles as an analyst at Ford Motor Company and a managerial role at Deloitte. Joe has since worked at Citi Smith Barney (Citi Family Office), UBS Financial Services, and was a Private Wealth Manager within Merrill Private Wealth at Bank of America. He holds a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) designation and Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) designation and is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute TM. Joe earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago where he played Division III Football. He is actively involved in the University of Chicago Alumni Association, formerly the treasurer of the Chi Upsilon graduate board. Joe is an avid runner and recently completed his second Bank of America Chicago Marathon. He lives in Park Ridge with his wife and two young children.

Alicia Coronas is a Divisional Vice President at Health Care Service Corporation, where she leads product strategy for five Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans. In this role she is committed to delivering solutions that provide members support and tools to manage their health, and make informed health care decisions for themselves and their families. She has had a career focus on improving experiences within the health care system, with previous roles in product development at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, and in the Strategy Consulting practice at Accenture. Alicia earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She lives in Bucktown and in addition to cheering for the college sports teams you love to hate, she enjoys traveling to new cities and dabbling in piano and guitar lessons.

Hanna Helwig is a criminal Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, where she prosecutes federal crime. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she worked as an Associate Attorney at Jenner & Block LLP and a judicial law clerk in the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Hanna was born and raised in Chicago and ran cross country through college. Now, she enjoys training for marathons on the lakefront path and sharing her love for both running and Chicago with anyone who will listen.

Dennis McClelland is the Chief Credit Officer and Beverly Bank and Trust, a Wintrust Bank, and has been with the company since 2010. Dennis manages the overall risk profile of the Bank’s loan portfolio, and is also responsible for the analytical content and qualitative analysis of all underwriting, working with all internal and external regulators, continuous monitoring of the credit portfolio, and attending Beverly’s Board of Directors meetings to provide updates on all loan portfolio matters. Dennis obtained a BA in Business Administration from St. Xavier University, and holds an MBA and a Masters of Science in Finance from DePaul University’s Kellstadt School of Business.

Mark McKinley is a Managing Director, Wealth Advisor, at William Blair. He is responsible for the investment, relationship management and client communication on a variety of taxable and tax-exempt client relationships. Before joining William Blair, Mark was a portfolio manager at Atlantic Trust for more than 14 years. Previously, he worked at Northern Trust for more than eight years, spending most of that time as a portfolio manager. Mark has lived in Chicago his whole life. He loves to stay active and so do his three daughters, who have all run on their school track or cross country teams. He is passionate about Chicago Run's mission and the benefits of running.

Joon Sung is a risk management and insurance professional having spent his career at JP Morgan Chase, TransUnion and Aon, where he currently serves as an account executive advising large organizations with their corporate insurance programs. After immigrating from Korea at the age of 6, Joon grew up in various towns in southern Wisconsin. Upon graduating from UW Madison with a bachelor’s degree in risk management and finance, Joon moved to Chicago where he serendipitously met his future wife. He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking with his family, playing tennis and pickleball. Joon has run a total of 7 marathons and is proud to have run the last 4 for Chicago Run.

Meg Young is a Vice President in Private Wealth Management (PWM) at Goldman Sachs, where she co-leads a team that advises privately held business owners, high net worth individuals, family offices and foundations. She is a member of PWM’s Client Engagement Board and the Summer Associate Development Council. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in Institutional Fixed Income Sales and Trading for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York. Meg is a proud Northwestern Wildcat as she serves on the Northwestern Women’s Cross Country Alumni Council and the Northwestern University Leadership Circle Regional Board. Meg earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She lives in Chicago and enjoys her Peloton treadmill training for the occasional half marathon.

Lisa Zimmer is the Co-Owner of Fleet Feet Chicagoland. In 1997 she co-founded Fleet Feet Chicago with her husband, Dave, drawing on her marketing communications background from both a large corporation and a major marketing agency. Under their leadership, Fleet Feet Chicago-Rockford has grown to 10 stores across the Chicagoland area. Fleet Feet Chicago-Rockford sets the pace for the entire franchise network with its community engagement and charitable efforts.

Bryan Traubert practiced ophthalmology in Chicago for over 30 years. He received his BS from The Citadel and his MD degree from the University of Illinois. He spent 2016 as a Fellow at The Distinguished Careers Institute at Stanford. He is Chairman of The Pritzker Traubert Foundation (PTF), which is dedicated to equalizing opportunity in Chicago. He is also a former board member of the Harvard School of Public Health, Partnership for a Healthier America, Wendy Will Case Cancer Fund, Children's Memorial Hospital and Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind. Dr. Traubert serves on the Board of WBEZ/Chicago Pubic Media (Vice Chairman) and Noble Street Charter Schools. He is the past chairman of Marwen and former board member of National Public Radio, Citadel Foundation, Facing History and Ourselves and The Renaissance Society. Dr. Traubert was appointed in 2010, and served through 2015, as President of the Chicago Park District Board. He founded Take the Field, a public private partnership which built 12 state of the art artificial turf fields in underserved communities in Chicago, and he founded and serves on the board of the Chicago Parks Foundation. Dr. Traubert is currently serving on the board for the National Park Foundation (Vice Chairman) and as a Trustee of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. From 2009 – 2013, he served on the White House Fellows Commission. Dr. Traubert enjoys running, cycling, tennis, skiing, gardening, theater, contemporary art and architecture. A longtime resident of Chicago, he is married to Penny Pritzker, who served as U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 2013 to January of 2017. They live in Chicago and have two adult children.

Penny Pritzker is the co-founder of Chicago Run. An American business executive, entrepreneur, civic leader, and philanthropist who served as the 38th United States Secretary of Commerce. She is the founder of PSP Capital Partners and Pritzker Realty Group. She is also co-founder of Artemis Real Estate Partners. Penny previously served on the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board. She has also served on the boards of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, Marmon Group and LaSalle Bank Corporation. Much of Penny's civic work focuses on public education. She served as advisory board chairman of Skills for America's Future, The Aspen Institute, past chair of the Chicago Public Education Fund, and a former member of the Chicago Board of Education. Her interests include running, cycling, travel, contemporary art, and current affairs.
