Inspiring Chicago's kids to get up and movin' is a big job! Chicago Run relies heavily on help from a mix of people; from parents, to teachers, to site coordinators, to sponsors - our team is growing day by day.
If you would like to help us on our mission to promote healthy lifestyles in Chicago's kids and reach 10,000 children by 2010, please join our cause!

Parents
If your child is in the program, praise them for the miles they've run, and encourage them to continue to run outside of school. Turn off the TV and head into the backyard or a nearby park to take a family run. And talk to your child's principal or Chicago Run school coordinator about other ways you can show support. And remember to lead by example - some Chicago Run parents have started independent "walking clubs." Think outside the box!
CPS Teachers / School Administrators
If you're already in the program, provide support to your school's Site Coordinator and assist them in managing the program at your school. Encourage the runners, and develop complementary curriculums that promote nutrition and fitness in the classrooms. If you would like your school to become a part of the program, Contact Us today.
Site Coordinators
Attend the Chicago Run training session at the beginning of every year. Along with your school staff, you can also attend our free curriculum of professional development activities related to physical fitness and exercise. Then, stay in touch with us and actively ask questions and participate in the process. We're here to help, and the success of our program relies on you.
Sponsors
We wouldn't be able to achieve our mission without our Sponsors. Chicago Run is always accepting donations for incentives for youth runners such as water bottles, T-Shirts, packaged goods, and fitness apparel. We also can explore mutually beneficial sponsorship opportunities at an upcoming Chicago Run event. If you would like to help Chicago Run reach more kids, get in touch with us.
Spread the Word
Word of mouth is a powerful tool. As we enter our second full school year, we are proud of the progress we've made, and hope to continue our growth. Please tell our story to neighbors, family, friends, and members of your community, and help us combat childhood obesity, one step at a time.
